A Message From Lightnin'

Dear Friends,

It's been a busy fall with good gigs down in Georgia (with John Hammond and Wet Willie), the Pleasure Island Seafood Jazz and Blues Festival in Fort Fisher on the beach, Down East Folk Society concerts in New Bern and Beaufort, a swell new venue in Durham called Papa Mojo's Roadhouse, as well as the old home base R.A. Fountain General Store. Lots of fun and some good food on the side!

The new CD is out and available from CD Baby and R.A. Fountain. It's called Shake 'Em On Down and is a solo outing recorded and mixed on the West Coast featuring country blues, old-time songs, and some old time pop tunes featuring accompaniment on the Gibson and National guitars as well as 5-string banjo, harmonica, and ukulele. Response has been very good so far. It's gotten a lot of airplay on the public radio stations here in North Carolina and will be reviewed in Sing Out! magazine and The Old Time Herald in their upcoming issues.

My next CD project is nearing completion and will be a collection of old-time tunes and blues geared toward younger listeners called Jump Little Children: Old Songs For Young Folks. We hope to have this project available before the Christmas season. I'll keep you posted.

Life is good!

Hope to see y'all soon,

Lightnin'
